Find a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant here if your travel distance is out of my range: www.iaabc.org Certified Dog Behavior Consultants have the expertise and knowledge to help you eliminate problem behaviors, however, you should investigate any Certified Consultants methodology as your first step before hiring since there are some consultants who may still rely on old school, outdated, methods. Aggressive methods should always be avoided in behavioral modification and training. Using aversion or aversive tools to try to help a dog with a behavioral disorder is no different than believing that you can heal a burn on your finger by burning it again! Aggression simply begets aggression. See what the Licensed Veterinary Behavioral Community has to say about shock collars: http://landofpuregold.com/the-pdfs/shock-collars.pdf Dogs that are under socialized , fearful or aggressive DO NOT belong in group dog training classes!!!! Placing a dog with a behavioral problem into a group training situation will only agitate the animal and escalate the behavioral problem! Your dog's environment and training program is both "relevant" and "reinforcing" to his/her behavior! Note: Betty DOES NOT use, or condone the use of, electronic training devices which include, but are not limited to, electronic collars, electronic boundary training devices, bark collars, etc..
